SELECTING HOT TUB COVERS & SPA COVERS: WHAT IS IMPORTANT?
Among the key factors to consider is your use of your hot tub, your climate and the location of your hot tub. If you keep your spa hot year round, you will want a cover that will minimize your heating bills, especially if you live in a cold climate. Consider the amounts of sun, cold, rain, wet snow and snow your hot tub cover will receive. Each of these parameters is a factor in selecting correct hot tub covers, in order to get the best value for your dollar.
Now look again, closely, at the photo above. Can you see why the corner and center of the hot tub shows snow melt?
The corner shows snow melt because when the hot tub cover was closed, the skirt was folded under the hot tub cover. Can you see it now? Due to the skirt being folded under the hot tub cover, the heat seal is lost. The escaping heat melted all the snow from around the corner. This is the same as leaving a door open and can be very expensive. Our hot tub covers can be made with a split corner skirt, so this does not happen.
The hole in the snow in the middle of the hot tub cover is due to a malfunctioning or ill fitting steam stopper. Hot tub covers need these to seal the heat in across the fold. Below you can see the steam stopper both when the hot tub cover is open and how hot tub covers look when they are closed.

| The snow photo above provides a dramatic demonstration of the importance of two oft overlooked hot tub cover components - the steam stopper and split corner skirts. Hot tub covers are designed to function as a whole, with every element having importance. |
